COMPENSATION

Pay or shift range: $83,000- $120,000 USD annually. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Security Engineer you would be responsible for protecting Sun Country's computer systems and networks from threats by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. You will design, implement, and manage security infrastructure, including intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM solutions, endpoint security, and vulnerability management tools. You will be asked to perform security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.

Additional responsibilities include analyzing security logs and alerts, responding to security incidents, and assisting in conducting forensic investigations. You may be asked to develop and automate security controls, define security architectures, and ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Experience in areas like network security, cryptography, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and secure coding practices is crucial.

  • Provide Cybersecurity consulting to business and technology partners.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to threats and incidents.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the broad range of security tools and technologies and implement new capabilities as needed/required.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments across various technologies and develop and coordinate remediation efforts with relevant teams.
  • Participate or lead security testing and risk assessments for new systems and applications.
  • Participate in or lead audits, compliance efforts, and documentation.
  • Optimize services to achieve enhancements in performance, capacity and availability while simultaneously achieving cost optimization.
  • Contribute to the definition of security patterns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on a variety of projects to design and implement secure technologies.
  • Stay informed of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends within the security and/or aviation space.
  • Remain current with the latest Sun Country IT system/services/applications information, changes, and updates.
  • Strictly follow established ITIL repeatable practices - Incident Management, Change Management, Event Management, Problem Management (including RCA's).
  • Adhere to, promote and advance SCA Security Policy, Standards and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Security
  • Experience with security solutions and tools; IPS, EDR/Anti-virus, Proxy, Active Directory, Vulnerability scanning, evidence gathering
  • Experience with PCI and other security controls and audits
  • Strong understanding of security principles and mitigation strategies
  • Natural desire to learn new security technologies without any previous experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to present ideas at all levels of the organization in a business-friendly manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated attitude, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines within quality standards
  • Can receive and assimilate feedback in a professional manner
  • Collaborative, team-oriented working style, with the natural ability to coach and/or mentor peers

PREFERRED SKILLS



  • CISSP or equivalent certification
  • Experience in travel or aviation-related industry

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
