Your Opportunity + Impact

Responsible for managerial direction of the department. Provides supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Determines technical and professional staffing needs - hires, manages, and motivates personnel. Provides work assignments and reviews performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. Performs performance reviews. Serves as a technical advisor, provides senior-level input and evaluation on projects. Establishes and maintains quality and accuracy standards. Reviews and approves completed engineering documentation. Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems. Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes projects and develops standards and guidelines. Works cooperatively with other managers to achieve the company's mission.
Performs construction management and/or field engineering duties on assigned field construction projects, as needed. Uses Deltek for completion and approvals of weekly time reports, expense statements, and project reporting to project management, department management, and upper management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight of electrical aspects of all in-house projects to the extent required by the project scope or necessary for corporate risk management.
  • Develop staff in their technical knowledge, verbal and visual presentation skills, awareness of the firm's capabilities, experience and the confidential nature of some projects.
  • Assist with management and preparation of proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
  • Prepare studies, due diligence reviews, capital cost estimates, and design documents from concept through construction completion.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage equipment and distributions.
  • Oversee development of electrical specifications, including electrical construction work specification.
  • Perform advanced electrical calculations for system design per NEC or other specified job standards. These calculations may require the use of department or vendor software packages.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PE Certification Preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight(8) years of experience in the engineering field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical equipment and wiring design.
