Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to join our team as the Manager of Strategic Planning. This role is pivotal in supporting our global practice structure and driving our business development strategies, with a strong emphasis on market intelligence, financial analysis, and capital markets activity with a focus on restructuring, distressed M&A, and liability management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends and the ability to translate this knowledge into actionable opportunities. This role involves creating reporting solutions, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with various departments, lawyers, and Firm management on a daily basis as well as on special projects and initiatives. The Manager of Strategic Planning will report to the Senior Manager of Strategic Planning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities for growth.
- Analyze market data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Utilize financial modeling techniques to analyze performance and assess the impact of strategic decisions.
- Prepare and present financial reports that highlight key findings and strategic implications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.
- Lead the development of strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and enhance market position.
- Monitor and analyze capital markets activity to identify trends and opportunities for the company.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from practice leaders and Firm management
- Manage various Firm needs related to the global practice structure
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting and IT on technology-based reporting solutions and enhancements
- Lead other efforts and complete special projects as necessary, working closely with all Senior Managers in the Strategic Planning function
- Direct and supervise staff, including review of work, training and coaching
- Promote high levels of service throughout group; ensure service standards are set and achieved by team; provide coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure a high level of service is accomplished individually and through teamwork
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range
$130,000 - $145,000 if located in Illinois
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- A minimum of 8 years of accounting and financial analysis experience
- Advanced capabilities and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a professional services firm
- Proven experience in strategic planning, market intelligence, financial analysis, and business development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments.
