Position: Grain Operations Associate

Reports to: Grain Branch Manager

Classification: Fulltime, Hourly

Location: Fostoria

Job Description:

* Conduct daily grain handling operations including good housekeeping/safety practices while providing excellent customer service to the cooperative's patrons.

Requirements:

• Uphold all Legacy Farmers Cooperative's safety policies
• Complete all orientation/safety/customer service/grain trainings offered by Legacy
• Maintain an attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of the cooperative
• Ability to work well with others and independently
• Provide friendly customer service
• Have exceptional communication skills
• Possess flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
• Ability to read and follow detailed directions and learn new skills as required
• Comfortable working in, around, and on top of grain bins and railcars
• Must have a full range of body motion including bending, squatting and twisting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, reach work above shoulders, dump/load all types of wagons, trailers
• Ability to operate forklift/skid steer safely and proficiently (training provided)
• Learn the facility layout and assist with housekeeping/groundskeeping
• Learn to identify poor condition, treated, and mixed grain and how to probe a truck
• Assist loading trains and help occasionally with preventative maintenance
• Learn grain dryer safety, how to clean and monitor fuel levels

Preferred Experience:

• High school graduate
• Working knowledge of the agriculture industry or grain facility operations including experience handling grain from pit to load out a plus
• Agricultural business background/OABA Student Credential
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to help at other Legacy locations as needed on a short-term basis

• Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard, including overtime and weekends as required
