Job Summary:

Job Description:

Provides assessments and evaluates effectiveness and progression of treatment. Develops and expands programs. Monitors, tracks and adjusts daily workflows of other employees in order to maintain and efficient workflow. Ensures regulatory compliance and is a resource for program certification.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Assists with all phases of cardiac rehab.
    • Sets short and long term goals and assists patient in risk factor modification.
    • Identified outcomes are met or modified activities of daily living are provided as needed.
    • Monitor and develops exercise prescription, program and progresses.
    • Performs stress tests, if high risk, under the supervision of a provider or nurse proctor.
    • Charges treatment and determines appropriate insurance coverage.
    • Provides cardiopulmonary education for all phases of cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Maintains efficient workflow for the department.
    • Adjust employee schedules to meet patient volumes and trends.
    • Ensures that all necessary supplies are maintained at appropriate levels to meet patient needs.
    • Complete daily charge reconciliation and ensure all charges are processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains department compliance.
    • Maintains and updates department policies and procedures.
    • Maintains the department in a continuous state of readiness for regulatory audits.
    • Guides the department towards AACVPR certification.
    • Facilitates mock codes at established intervals.
  • Assists with development of departmental policies, procedures and systems.
    • Participate in design and implementation of programs which meet state, federal and joint commission regulations and guidelines.
    • Participates and teaches at staff and communities in-service education.
    • Provides input to enhance the services provided by the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Nursing or Occupation Therapy
  • 2+ years in cardiac rehabilitation or stress testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Nursing or Occupation Therapy

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certified Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy required if current occupational therapist upon hire or
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required if current registered nurse upon hire or
  • Licensed Physical Therapist - MN State Board of Physical Therapy required if current physical therapist upon hire
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire

  • Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $32.20 to $44.13 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
