We are seeking a results-oriented Business Improvement Team Manager to manage the Rotoflow and Gardner Business Improvement team and drive the development and implementation of innovative and cutting-edge business work processes and systems across two business units. As the manager of the Business Improvement team, you will mentor, coach, develop, and lead the team in continuous improvement methodologies and approaches to enable them to achieve their specific improvement goals and objectives. You will also work with the Rotoflow and Gardner teams to find opportunities to streamline work, prioritize current process gaps, develop new tools, and implement solutions. By focusing on optimizing cost, performance, and reliability, your role will enhance the competitive position of Rotoflow and Gardner. In this role, you'll own identifying and driving improvements across our organizations in partnership with management and key stakeholders and leading your team to achieve results. You'll lead various efforts to explore, improve, implement, and optimize key processes from business development, sales, and proposals to after sales services and support and will be located at our headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or process improvement roles,
  • Broad strategic thinker, with a clear vision and direction to improve business performance,
  • Manufacturing experience a plus,
  • Black Belt or Green Belt LSS certification a plus,
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools/techniques/methods (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile, etc.),
  • Advanced problem-solving skills. Identify and recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples,
  • Advanced project management skills including oversight of project teams, resource identification, budgets, scheduling, and planning,
  • Detail-oriented, goal oriented, organized, creative, self-motivated, collaborative and customer focused,
  • Demonstrated implementation and change management skills,
  • Be flexible and nimble to change! Including leveraging the best methodology and/or approach to solve business problems,
  • Highly capable of working across all levels to influence key stakeholders and lead through influence,
  • Effective team building and teamwork skills and ability to work with engineers, technicians, and suppliers in shop, office, and field environments,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation),
  • High energy, desire to learn new skills, and desire to continue assuming broader leadership roles in the organization,
  • Ability to communicate effectively at senior levels of the organization,
  • Exemplify a passion for winning and ability to motivate teams,
  • Ability to create an environment of trust and consistently exhibit a positive attitude,

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Leadership Team and your manager to establish the BI portfolio of initiatives,
  • Owning, driving, and leading the BI team to execute on the BI portfolio of initiatives for Rotoflow and Gardner,
  • Owning budget, progress, and report out to the Leadership Team for the BI portfolio,
  • Leading the BI team to continually evaluate and present opportunities for improvements across Rotoflow and Gardner teams and processes,
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing the BI team,
  • Conducting performance evaluations, goal setting, and direct day-to-day management of the BI team members,
  • Participating or chairing community of practice (CoP) for areas related to business improvement or CoPs relevant to our business,
  • Driving and improving the processes and systems associated with the business improvement team,
  • Acting as the single point of contact/interface with Air Products' Digital Technology (DT) Team to exert influence, build collaboration, align resourcing and funding, and drive action for initiatives that require DT support,
  • As a business improvement lead, your responsibilities will include:
  • Driving progress on assigned BI initiatives,
  • Meeting with your coworkers, Go to Gemba!, to identify pain points and opportunities to improve, whether work processes, systems, or tools,
  • Facilitating idea generation through collaborative efforts (e.g. brainstorming, CI events, and stakeholder engagement),
  • Planning, performing, and implementing complex continuous improvement initiatives to new and existing processes,
  • Developing insightful actions, suggesting recommendation, and influencing the direction of businesses by effectively working with and communicating results to multi-functional groups,
  • Leading discussions that will uncover business needs and requirements, getting at the heart or root of the opportunity,
  • Collecting and analyzing data. Providing actionable insights, identify trends, and measuring results of improvements,
  • Creating business case for initiatives including problem statement, impact, scope, and benefits,
  • Creating and managing project plans, including timeline, resource plan, budget, risk management, change management approach and rollout strategies,
  • Working with our Digital Technology organization on technical implementation of software solutions,
  • Monitoring results of changes and adapting as necessary,
  • Communicating and facilitating training as needed

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but not mandatory.
