Description

Essential Duties:

Receive incoming material. This includes unloading incoming shipments of material and insuring the quantity signed for matches the quantity actually received. If there is a mismatch, the receiver will change the quantity on the packing slip to match the actual number received and then sign and date the packing slip and turn it in to the receiving office.

* Store material in the proper location. The Receiver is responsible to store materials in their assigned storage location. If no location exists, contact Purchasing for the correct storage location. Parts should be stored on a first in first out basis so stock will have to be rotated to accomplish this.

* To and insure Kan Ban items are monitored on a daily basis. The Receiver will be responsible to insure the parent Kan Ban bins within the plant are scanned once each day and the Kan Ban card for items at the reorder point are turned into purchasing and Kan Ban cards for replenished items are returned and properly located on the Kan Ban bin. Further, all satellite bins will be scanned and refilled as needed. Finally, all Kan Ban items received during the shift must be put away in the parent Kan Ban bin.

* Insure damaged material is handled properly. The Receiver will be responsible for making sure that all damaged material that has been properly tagged with a DMR is safely moved and stored in the damaged material storage location. Further, the Receiver will process or return material to suppliers as directed by the Head Receiver or Buyer. Further, the receiver should attempt to insure that all items being returned to suppliers go back in as close to their original packaging as possible.

* Conduct cycle counts or count backs as directed by the Head Receiver or purchasing. The Receiver will conduct special audits from time to time as needed by the Director of Purchasing or other purchasing personnel. Such counts may include weekly grocery counts or certain item specific count backs.

* Use the daily shortage list and communicate to purchasing and manufacturing when a part on the daily shortage report is received. The receiver will obtain a copy of the daily shortage report from the Head Receiver at the beginning of the shift.

Requirements

* Demonstrate ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.

* Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently and as a team player.

* The ability to read measurements, work or calculate numbers, use handheld tools.

* Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50 lbs.

* The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-10 hours)

Need to be able to get certified in driving a fork lift.
