JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend seeks an evening/weekend, part-time library assistant. Summer semester hours are Mondays-Tuesdays, 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. with alternating Fridays, 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. and, fall/spring semesters, Sundays-Tuesdays, 2:00p.m.-10:00p.m. Hours are subject to change; therefore, an ability to work a flexible schedule is required. Duties include staffing the circulation desk, answering basic informational and directional questions, processing in-house and interlibrary loan materials, training & supervising evening/weekend student staff and completing special projects as assigned. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to work independently as well as with others in a team, a commitment to providing responsive and innovative services to a culturally and racially diverse campus, and a high degree of reliability.
