Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking an Area Operations Manager - Vegetation & Aesthetics.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides daily oversight of the company's field operations to include resource allocation, activity scheduling, workload management, issue resolution, customer service, and FDOT client interface.
  • Ownership and implementation of the company safety program include updating the project safety plan, conducting safety training, regulatory compliance, and promoting the overall safe operation and culture of the company (including uploading all safety documentation into KPA).
  • Assists with the development of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans for maintenance of vegetation & aesthetics assets in our corridors.
  • Ensures vegetation & aesthetics assets in the corridor are maintained in a condition that is compliant with the FDOT maintenance rating program (MRP) requirements.
  • FDOT MRP coordination and inspection participation.
  • Oversight of personnel and subcontractors in the performance of field operations and maintenance activities. Ensure work is performed on time and within budget.
  • Ensures company services and work products are delivered in compliance with the FDOT standards and specifications and reporting requirements.
  • Completion of deliverables and reporting requirements in accordance with the client contract and company requirements.
  • Maximizes the use of company's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders, capture production, perform quality control, and complete reports.
  • Assign work orders to HMTs and CSRs to subcontractors.
  • Performs project daily inspections.
  • Performs subcontractor oversight and coordination to ensure subcontractors perform work in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Dispatch and schedule resources to mitigate risks and repair all 3rd party damages.
  • Fleet/Equipment maintenance and repairs coordination with Fleet Manager.
  • Stock and material ordering.
  • Assist Project Manager with new vendors and subcontractors competitive price requests.
  • Weekly schedule implementation and execution.
  • Fleet utilization.
  • Oversee and ensure contractual performance measures/contractual times are met.
  • Work with QCM to make sure the work is done with the right materials and specs.
  • Participates in the HMT hiring/interview process.
  • QC and close WO's and track the open WO's to be closed in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve HMT time sheets and ensure the OT within the allowed by budget.
  • Routine/emergencies lane closure schedule.
  • Coordinates resource support from HMTs from the on-call schedule with Field Supervisors and other AOMs including the Delineator RTM operation.
  • Completes expense reporting in a timely manner within Company policy.
  • Understands and abides by ethical behavior and integrity standards, per Versar's Code of Business Conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the project manager.

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5-year experience construction, vegetation and maintenance experience and skills.
  • 1 year experience and skills with heavy equipment and tools for maintenance and landscaping work.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with structure, signs, traffic signals and road fence maintenance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and standard software applications.
  • Shall have completed intermediate or ability to pass Advanced Maintenance of Traffic certification
  • Must possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictions.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CDL A or B
  • Herbicide Certification
  • MOT Certified

Compensation

Expected Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite in Miami Lakes, FL.
