Software Engineer Director - SD-WAN

The SD-WAN engineering team at Juniper Networks works on a highly scalable, distributed SDWAN application that is AI-Driven. You will have the chance to create and implement inventive solutions for the architectural complexities involved in intelligent path routing. You will actively work on project teams with other highly skilled engineers involved in the software development for WAN Assurance - A hyper-scalable cloud AIOps platform.

As a Software Engineering Director at Juniper, you will be at the forefront of AI Ops and SD-WAN, leading a team of talented software engineers in delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance our customers' quality of experience and operational efficiency. Your leadership will be pivotal in managing the software team's performance, tracking progress, and ensuring their work is effectively communicated to stakeholders. You will play a critical role in driving inter-team collaboration, identifying and managing dependencies, and ensuring that the team meets its objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities



  • Lead a development team and deliver solutions in a fast-paced technology-driven environment
  • Hire, enable, and empower people to do their best work in an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation and fosters development and learning
  • Identify and improve the efficiency, scalability, operability of the product
  • Autonomously remove roadblocks to enable to the team to make progress and keep on track towards the desired outcomes
  • Track team performance, conducting regular reviews, and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Lead sprint planning, ensuring clear communication of priorities, tasks and deadlines, and actively track team progress
  • Represent the work of the team in various forums, ensuring visibility and alignment with broader company objectives
  • Provide necessary input to peers and upper management on ways to improve the usability of the product
  • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies with the engineering team and to customers
  • Work closely with the Product Management organization to develop innovative, scalable network solutions
  • Actively work to remove distractions and administrative burdens from your software engineering team, allowing them to focus on maximizing their development time
  • Translate the company's strategic vision, align group's work, and help individuals understand their impact on Juniper's success in the WAN-Edge market
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Guide technical design and decisions



Qualifications



  • B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience developing large-scale software systems
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience or people management experience
  • Familiar with Issue Tracking Systems (Jira), Linux (RedHat), and Version Control Systems (Git)
  • Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures, with experience designing and optimizing algorithms for computationally complex robotic applications.
  • Strong familiarity with standard Linux system and operating system tools
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal, to effectively understand and convey issues and solutions to peers and end users
  • Experience with Agile development process
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration


Minimum Salary: $203,456.00

Maximum Salary:$292,468.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $203,456.00 and $292,468.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
