DESCRIPTION OF WORK

To maintain the integrity of racing, the Livestock Worker I is responsible for collecting urine samples and assisting with blood sample collection for testing. The worker will retrieve the sample kit from the State Veterinarian's office and must confirm that the sample numbers on the urine cup, security straps, and witness receipt correspond with the tattoo number of the horse being tested. It is essential to return both the urine and blood samples in accordance with the established protocols. In addition, you will perform a variety tasks associated with keeping work areas and stalls clean. Interested in learning more? - This is a temporary part-time position
- Typical work schedule is 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM Sunday, with 30 minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Post Employment Requirement:
- This position will require possession of a Commission Employee License once hired.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
