Enabling Snowflake customers in public sectors in different countries and regions and in different industry verticals requires us to build a compliant, secure, and auditable cloud platform. Many key design decisions are deeply rooted in the Snowflake product architecture. As a cloud platform engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to several key areas and collaborating with various engineering groups as a part of the Regulatory & Sovereign Cloud team. To succeed in this role, you will continuously build knowledge and expertise in cloud infrastructure and data compliance areas.

AS A CLOUD PLATFORM SOFTWARE ENGINEER YOU WILL:
  • Solve real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem solving skills.

  • Create and maintain new Snowflake deployments in regulatory and sovereign cloud regions.

  • Design, implement and maintain scalable distributed systems for our cloud automation platform that include cloud control plane, Kubernetes container platform and traffic and networking.

  • Implement reliable systems and patterns to manage infrastructure at scale.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of cloud services.

  • Make an impact on cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers across teams.

OUR IDEAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
  • 2-5 years of industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production.

  • Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.

  • Strong experience in Go or other concurrent programming languages, especially in multi-threading or concurrency.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code

  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Jenkins preferred

  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure - AWS, Azure or Google Cloud - preferred

  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $157,000 - $230,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
