Professional Experience/ Qualifications

  • Must have experience with Windows-based computer software and be able to learn new, special purpose software applications.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to function within a culturally diverse community and workforce.
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Library experience preferred.
  • Experience working with the public in a fast paced environment preferred.

Education
Associates degree required, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are acquired.

Department Statement
Accountabilities

  • Provide library services related to circulation and to collections and facilities use.
  • Manage incoming reserves requests including digitization of print materials, coordination of streaming video, and linking reserves in Moodle.
  • Interpret, apply, and enforce all circulation, building use, and library emergency response policies, under the direction of the Borrowing Services Manager.
  • Resolve conflicts and communicate effectively within Borrowing Services.
  • Provide oversight for all library services related to circulation and to collections and facilities access in the absence of the Borrowing Services Manager.
  • Perform efficient and orderly retrieval from and return of materials to LASR and interlibrary loan.
  • Oversee building security systems including the systems for locking and unlocking doors and providing elevator access, and report problems to campus security and library administration.
  • Know and enforce library space use policies and use EMS room booking system.
  • Provide support for document delivery, resource sharing, and reserves.
  • Manage fines and bills for circulation services, including their entry into the student accounting system
