Research Technician

Monday - Friday/ 40 hours/ week

This laboratory is interested in lung disease and inflammation, particularly pneumonia, asthma, chronic bronchitis and environmental toxins. The investigator studies regulation of the inflammatory and immune responses in the lungs. Understanding of fundamental biochemical, cell biology and physiological concepts is beneficial.

This position involves experimental work in mouse models of lung disease, as well as lab procedures that include isolation of protein, RNA and DNA from tissues and cells, assessment of RNA quality, RT- PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, The applicant must have experience either working with mice or in these lab procedures. This laboratory provides a collaborative and exciting working environment.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

The candidate must be able to follow detailed protocols carefully and precisely. The candidate must be fluent in word processing (Word) and spreadsheet computer (Excel, Powerpoint) programs, have the ability to work independently, take initiative, and multitask. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Relevant lab experience preferred.
