THE JOB:

The Space Planning Specialist focuses on improving how meeting and event space is booked to help boost revenue. It ensures space is used efficiently by placing events in the right areas, making the most of busy and slower periods, and finding space for catering-only groups to support catering goals. The position also provides monthly reports on space availability and booking trends to help all properties identify open dates and opportunities. Additionally, the Space Planner manages hotel holds on entertainment venues and keeps communication clear and organized about booking status.

You will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING PAY RATE: $24.00 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Share open weeks and booking patterns with Global Sales and Leadership to help create programs that boost room sales, especially during slow periods
  • Enter all meeting space details into Event Management Software based on booking guidelines, and double-check that event plans match what's in the system
  • Work with each National Sales Manager to confirm setup and teardown times for large events
  • Monitor meeting space in Event Management Software to spot trends or openings that could be used by the small group sales or catering-only teams
  • Coordinate with the Entertainment team to manage the event calendar and make sure space is being held correctly
  • Keep the Entertainment team updated when events are confirmed and release space as needed

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Two (2) years of previous experience
  • Experience with Hotel Sales, Operations, Convention Service, or Special Events preferred
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
