GENERAL FUNCTION:

This role is responsible for facilitating and executing operational processes relating to the Wealth and Asset Management / Fifth Third Securities, Inc. line of business. This position requires an operational professional working within a high risk environment that follows established guidelines and procedures and also proactively identifies and resolves problems for both our Fifth Third Securities (FTS) sales field and our end clients. Responsible for daily implementation of various types of Cashiering processes while ensuring efficient and accurate processing. Professionally communicates status updates and rejections to the FTS sales field and management.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Associate is accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues all while ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for moving money into and out of FTS brokerage accounts via electronic funds transfer systems.

  • Serves as a control point by ensuring all required documents are present and accurate while verifying that all required approvals are properly obtained.

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of retirement distributions.

  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance for all Periodic Investment Plans and Systematic Withdrawal Plans.

  • Responsible for physical check and stock certificate deposits for the Broker/Dealer.

  • Ensures the Electronic Check Blotter is accurate and updated and that the firm remains compliant with FINRA deadlines regarding the custody of client funds.

  • Follows up on (NIGO) items daily.

  • Responsible for all 529 and 401(k) plan processing.

  • Processes all requests within defined service level agreements.

  • Interacts daily with field sales force to resolve disconnects and/or verify input data.

  • Communicates with field and internal operations personnel regarding submission of paperwork and status of requests and money movements.

  • Provides reports and statistics to management.

  • Responsible for the investigation and repair of disconnects/fails on all systematic plans.

  • Communicates any missing paperwork/requirements necessary to book positions into accounts.

  • Coordinates with other Cashiering functions to ensure thorough processing of daily work.

  • Completes daily record keeping requirements according to industry rules and standards.

  • Maintains a current knowledge of IRS rules and regulations pertaining to retirement accounts.

  • May assist in training new Cashiering members.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma required. College degree preferred.

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 or 66 preferred.

  • Previous securities processing and/or accounting experience preferred.

  • Extreme attention to detail, maintaining the highest quality.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office Products, including working knowledge of Excel, as well as DOS based Mainframe System Applications.
