Job Overview
The Director of Prospect Development at Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation (Foundation) is responsible for maximizing the fundraising performance of the Foundation. The person in this role will collaborate across the Foundation to ensure a robust pipeline of prospects, provide data-driven insights, analyses, and interpretations to inform fundraising strategies, and to inform decision-making that contributes to the strategic objectives of the Foundation. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Operations in the Foundation.

Department Name: CHCHS Foundation Job Status: Full time, 40 hours per week. Shift: Days, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Required 50% in office (we do not classify hybrid for this role)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five years' experience leading a department or group of professional employees.
- Experience in prospect development, research, portfolio management, data science, modeling, and/or analytics
- Working knowledge of resources available for prospect research, including iWave, Lexis Nexus, Relationship Science, etc.
- High proficiency and familiarity with database and CRM systems, (the Foundation presently uses Blackbaud CRM)
- Demonstrated experience in synthesizing multiple sources of quantitative and qualitative data and providing effective analysis, evaluation, and data visualization.
- Ability to translate this information from data analyses into reports and presentations.
- A working leader who is both visionary and able to direct and undertake the tactical work required to achieve goals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, including ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and systems in both in-person and virtual environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *Experience in a healthcare fundraising environment that raises major gifts (>$50K) *Experience in a matrix structure where there are multiple, competing priorities, and close collaboration is necessary. *Proficiency and/or certifications in data mining, statistical techniques, data manipulation, and visualization/reporting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop, oversee, and manage a comprehensive prospect development program that supports qualification, cultivation, and solicitation activities.
- Manage, implement, and ensure compliance with prospect management guidelines and standard procedures.
- Identify, evaluate, and propose investments in tools and platforms that help to grow and enhance Foundation's pipeline development.
- Collaborate with internal partners to provide both proactive and reactive qualitative and quantitative analyses of pipeline activities, including donor journeys and models.
- Collaborate with Development Services department on database administration to support effective reporting and data analysis.
- Continue to evaluate and refine current revenue streams and identify, evaluate, develop, and implement new revenue streams.
- Partner with business intelligence/data analysts, and Development Services business unit to leverage data and technology to enhance prospect development across the Foundation.
- Develop and manage data and activation strategy for third-party modeling scores.
- Oversee management of systematic prospect management process to track and evaluate progress of donor engagement and solicitation.
- Develop and direct processes for portfolio management and regular portfolio reviews.
- Ensure optimization of prospect giving by developing collaborative processes that ensure collaboration and open communication between departments and workgroups.
- Establish prospect pipeline guidelines and workflows that ensure a steady flow of new prospects while collaborating with portfolio managers to move prospects through the donor cycle.
- Identify, develop, manage, and evaluate qualified pool of prospects for lead annual, major, leadership, principal, and planned gifts.
- Collaborate on strategies for principal giving prospects to identify and plan for next steps and interactions.
- Provide quality assurance and training on best practices in portfolio management, prospect management, documentation and research strategies.
- Manage assignment reassignment of prospects to ensure prospects are moved successfully through the fundraising cycle.
- Oversee a program of quality prospect research to support cultivation, and qualification/solicitation interactions of front-line fundraising staff.
- Create systems that allow research to be timely, visible and actionable to prospect managers.
- Manage processes for proactive and reactive research needs that support fundraising efforts.
Collaborate with Development Services team to optimize use of fundraising systems and data to improving fundraising outcomes. - Identify new tools and methods to continuously improve research capabilities.
- Manage the Foundation's ethical standards for prospect research and demonstrate commitment to the highest standards for ethical and professional conduct.
Hires, leads, mentors and develops a staff of prospect development professionals. - Develops, manages, and leads prospect development training for all Foundation team members.
- Determine priorities and prepare an annual workplan that supports achievement of Foundation-wide objectives and revenue goals.
- Prepares and manages annual budget for Prospect Development that supports the proposed work plan.
- Ensure operational excellence and project alignment between business units across the Foundation.

The supervisor will oversee at least one or more direct reports who are hired and paid Foundation team members and is responsible for:
- Creating and managing workflows
- Recruitment and training of new hires
- Creating and monitoring work schedules and payroll expectations
- Evaluating performance and providing two-way continuous feedback opportunities
- Supporting training and career development conversations with direct reports
- Providing guidance and cascading information for workplace navigation with policies and procedures
- Creating and leading meaningful team member recognition and employee engagement
Foundation supervisors will participate and pro-actively contribute, and attend scheduled, assigned, and required training sessions.

Salary Information Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $80,000.00 to $120,000.00 Hourly Salary Range: $38.46 to $57.69
