At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demands is a key driver for our plant teams.

We have an opening for a Reliability Utilities Leader based in Jacksonville, FL! The Utilities Reliability Leader will be responsible for overseeing and executing the day-to-day operations, systems repair, and maintenance support of the Jacksonville Utilities Systems. Equipment within their control includes ammonia and glycol refrigeration, steam boilers, air compressors, electrical distribution, sewer systems, cooling towers, water treatment, HVAC, and facilities. In addition, the leader will assist the Maintenance team with any expertise when needed to assist the operations.

This coverage will be Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday - Day Shift. Flexibility and off shift coverage will need to be available during emergencies or special projects to ensure plant operations.

Key responsibilities you will have,

    Ensure the safety of our people and the quality of our products at all times.
  • Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, and repairs on all utility systems, including but not limited to ammonia and glycol refrigeration, steam boilers, air compressors, electrical distribution, sewer systems, cooling towers, water treatment, HVAC, water softeners, and facilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with utility systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous plant operations.
  • Assist in the installation of new utility systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor utility systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they become critical.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
  • Ensure all utility systems comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production and engineering, to support manufacturing operations.
  • Attend and support all line meetings as part of the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process.
  • Own Breakdown Elimination, Defect Handling, and Planning and Scheduling of the Utilities Systems.
  • Work with plant leaders in the development and execution of the Plan for the Day and loss elimination activities.
  • Communicate metrics for maintenance and reliability activities. Own and drive improvement around planned and unplanned downtime, breakdowns, MTBF, and MTTR metrics.
  • Follow up on safety, quality, and major losses with root cause analysis.
  • Support off-shift critical work and emergency repairs when required.
  • Identify gaps and roadblocks to successful execution of utility maintenance plans and develop plans to close gaps.
  • Monitor metrics, develop plans, and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, support cost goals, and identify productivity opportunities.
  • Support Planned Maintenance Pillar, System, and Tools implementation.
  • Support Systems and Equipment Ownership capability development.
  • Lead and support Early Equipment Management Activities, including possible startup leadership for projects within their area.
  • Be a member and valued contributor to one of Danone's Operational Excellence Pillars.

About You

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with five to ten years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive work experience in a utility-focused role.
  • Equivalent work experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Utilities certification's preferred (Boilers, Refrigeration, etc.).
  • Experienced in supervising support personnel and direct reports.
  • Microsoft Office Experience (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of TPM and continuous improvement methods.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance methods (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Steam Detection, Air Detection, etc..).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
  • Computer literacy in programming and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a technical manner with other Danone Associates and Danone Contacts, including Outside Vendors, Suppliers, Contractors, and Customers. This may include written reports or verbal discussions.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations encountered in maintenance.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to arrive at a reasonable solution.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to various utility systems and equipment.
  • Potential exposure to loud noises, hazardous materials, and varying temperatures.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
