We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Testing Estimator to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting our business by evaluating project requirements, identifying electrical testing needs, and developing accurate, competitive cost estimates.
In collaboration with our Sales Representatives, Project Managers, Engineers, and Clients, the Estimator will ensure all testing activities are aligned with industry standards, safety protocols, and client specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and documentation to determine testing scope.
- Develop detailed estimates for electrical testing services (including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs).
- Partner with sales to develop proposals and competitive bids.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure estimates reflect accurate field conditions and execution capabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NETA, ANSI, NFPA).
- Track project estimates versus actuals to support continuous improvement.
- Review project documentation and specifications to understand electrical testing requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
Cost Estimation:
- Collaborate with Sales Representative to establish detailed cost estimates for electrical testing services, including labor, equipment, materials, and overhead.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and methodologies to ensure accuracy.
Client Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to understand their specific testing needs and address any inquiries related to cost estimates.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of the estimation process and associated costs.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment between testing requirements and project goals.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information.
Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of all estimates, including assumptions and methodologies used.
- Update and revise estimates as project details evolve or change
Industry Knowledge:
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements in electrical testing methodologies.
- Apply knowledge to enhance the accuracy and relevance of cost estimates.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks on estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Implement feedback loops to continuously improve the estimation process.
- Proven experience in Electrical Estimating in the construction or electrical testing industry. 2-year Electrical Tech, Neta III or Neta IV
- Inside Electrical Sales /Quoting
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, testing methodologies, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
