What you will do
As the Environmental Coordinator, you will coordinate local implementation of environmental compliance, company policies and programs related to environmental management systems, and sustainable development. Other duties include:
- Help coordinate, oversee, or perform the work necessary to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and attainment of business values and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental performance standards, objectives and regulations
- Ensure all environmental compliance needs and requirements are met through inspections, verifications, sampling, correspondence and documentation. Assesses compliance with environmental programs and assist the Environmental Manager to ensure compliance at the facility. Provide feedback to Environmental Manager and stake holders on environmental compliance risks/gaps.
- Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted to government agencies on time, as required
- Review new, upcoming and existing environmental regulations and advise company management to assure full compliance.
- Coordinate logistical needs i.e. scheduling, providing guidance and escorting for environmental contractors and consultants performing work on site. Ensure contractors/consultants adhere to site specific safety requirements.
- Coordinate logistical needs for the handling and disposal of waste disposal events. Conduct sampling, classification and documentation to ensure proper waste disposal determinations are made.
- Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual/annual reporting data as needed. Monitor tracking, updating and completion of actions and obligations as outlined within the SHAERS License Module
- Keep current Certification of Method 9 Visible Opacity Reading, Small Water System Operation and Maintenance License, and Underground Storage Tank Wyoming License.
- Participate and assist in regulatory inspections/audits and follow up activities/tasks.
- Conduct required weekly, monthly and semi-annual visible emission observations.
- Assist with procurement environmental needs
- Operate equipment including, but not limited to pumps, vacuum equipment, oil spill booms, clean up equipment or other equipment deemed necessary to perform activities.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in environmental science or related discipline such as chemistry, biology or engineering required.
- Four years' experience with environmental regulations relating to chemical industries
- Knowledge of environmental programs, controls, liability abatement and management systems
- Solid, practical understanding of federal, stateand local environmental laws and regulations. Compliance skills to address corrective action in a prudent manner.
- Ability to interact and discuss issues with regulatory compliance officials.
- Ability to provide direction and coaching to influence an effective compliance culture
