AMD's Data Center Platform Engineering Group {DPEG} is designing, building and delivering innovative technology infrastructure enabling the digital world. The Principal Solutions Engineer will be responsible for identifying and closing new account opportunities in addition to managing customer relationships. The Principal Solutions Engineer will serve as an evangelist to enhance customer awareness of the DC Platform Engineering organizations core competencies and capabilities including global services, managed services, cloud, and data center services.

THE PERSON:

With the DC Platform Engineering organization strategic direction driving their objectives, the Principal Solutions Engineer will develop customer and segment acquisition strategies to grow the overall portfolio and bottom line. The Principal Solutions Engineer will also provide valuable insights and recommendations to support their client's strategic initiatives. The ultimate goal of the Principal Solutions Engineer is to establish a pipeline of prospects and convert healthy opportunities into long term strategic customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, ecosystem partners, and others to understand roadmaps, offerings, technologies, incentives, and areas of joint opportunities
• Responsible for performing all aspects of Business Development
• Conduct client presentations, estimation efforts, proposals, and negotiations
• Responsible for driving revenues and go-to-market strategies identified as a good fit for their account portfolio
• Work closely with the Solutions Engineer to build customized solutions pitches for the target account
• Conduct industry research and competitor analysis
• Build and manage account plan for targeted accounts
• Build and manage a segment plan for designated technologies
• Experience in PCIe compliance measurements using high-end equipment (e.g., Analyzer, Exerciser).
• Through understanding of PCIe protocol
• Experience debugging Signal Integrity issues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15+ years of relative experience in server or a relative industry
• Experience in PCIe compliance measurements using high-end equipment (e.g., Analyzer, Exerciser).
• Experience debugging Signal Integrity issues
• Experience in embedded C, C++, or Python code development
• Strong knowledge of data center technologies, future trends, and direction, including hyperscale industry competitors
• Strong industry and customer relationships. Able to impact pipeline from day one
• Knowledge of end to end managed Infrastructure Services go-to-market solutions a plus
• Experience with global delivery organizational selling and support processes a strong plus
• Hands-on experience with proposal creation and leading proposal presentations
• Solid business, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Strong skills in hands-on execution and project management
• Must have a pragmatic, hands-on style, and the ability to think outside the box
• Strong planning and priority-setting abilities
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and influencing skills
• Experienced at managing and delivering on time with multiple concurrent priorities
• Must have the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism
• Proven ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with both internal partners and external clients

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's Degree - required; Engineering Degree preferred. MBA preferred
