Job Summary:
|
This position will be a member of a team that is responsible for providing desktop information technology support for departments within the School of Medicine. This position will provide support for approximately 400 users, including faculty, staff, and students within assigned departments/divisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining personal computers and local area networks (LANs).
- Troubleshooting networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Interacting with users to determine problems, analyze situations, identify the source of the problems, determine appropriate solutions, and take the proper actions required to solve the problems.
- Performing a variety of maintenance, evaluation, and training tasks to ensure optimal computer performance and user experience.
- Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system-related concerns from clients or other employees.
- Attend in-person meetings with clients to analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware problems.
- Provide back-up support for other IT Professionals in Information Services.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing desktop/network support for Windows and macOS systems.
- Experience working with a wide range of computer network systems, including Windows servers and networking applications.
- Experience providing technical training and support to users.
- Experience supporting information technologies in an academic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $49,343 to $62,765. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
