Job Description

The Vertex Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Job Summary:

Instrumentation Engineering is responsible for evaluating the impact of new or modified laboratory equipment on the building's utilities and infrastructure systems. The Co-op will report to Sr. Manager of Instrumentation Engineering and provide Engineering and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

This Co-op will work with Facilities, lab owners, and vendors to assist in maintaining historical data on equipment assessments and work on building a database of typical equipment utility requirements in an effort to help streamline the assessment process. The Co-op will also help to support equipment assessments and support projects tasks associated with implementing changes associated with new or modified lab equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS in Facilities or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills. Proficient with Microsoft projects (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio) and experience with CAD or Bluebeam preferred.
  • Basic understanding of building utilities, including HVAC, BMS, plumbing, electrical, hydronic, and water purification systems.
  • Familiarity with reading and understanding P&ID's
  • Legal authorizationto work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025.

Pay Range 20.00 - 32.00 USD/hour
