ENSCO Inc. seeks a highly motivated and skilled Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. The successful candidate will primarily support the Eastern Range (ER) Launch and Test Range Systems (LTRS) Cyber Security team located at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), California. The LTRS is a critical components of space launch operations, encompassing a complex network of technologies used for tracking, telemetry, command, and control. This role demands a strong understanding of information systems security principles and practices, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment to ensure the security and integrity of these essential systems. Responsibilities:
- Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for the ER LTRS Accreditation Boundaries.
- Conduct comprehensive cyber self-assessments of enclave systems within the LTRS in accordance with the Space Authorization Official (OA) implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Perform thorough control validations to determine compliance with applicable controls
- Document findings from the self-assessments, including identification of vulnerabilities and recommended remediation strategy
- Collaborate closely with system owners, operators, Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSEs), and the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)
- Work directly with the AO's Security Control Assessor (SCA) to support the Authority to Operate (ATO) renewal process, including providing evidence of compliance and addressing any identified security concerns
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation such as the System Security Plan (SSP), Security Assessment Report (SAR), and development of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
- Evaluate and recommend security solutions, including hardware, software, and network configurations
- Stay abreast of emerging security threats and technologies, and proactively adapt security measures to address them
- Participate in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs
- Occasional travel to range locations to conduct on-premises security assessments
- Maintain all documentation and records within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
Qualification Required:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR related
field OR equivalent work experience - Minimum 5 years of specific experience in
Cybersecurity Engineering or Operations - Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance
Support Service (eMASS) - Communicate effectively, both orally and in
writing with team members, management, and customers - Analyze situations and develop a path to
achieve success - Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to
meet identified deadlines and goals - Make decisions quickly based on available
information - Think strategically and grow business
- Current DoD SECRET clearance
Qualifications Desired:
