Job Description Summary

AAM is searching for a Senior Resident Engineer - Software Controls to join our team. This position will be based out of our Advanced Technical Development Center, located in Detroit, MI. This role will act as the primary technical liaison between AAM and its automotive customers, ensuring seamless product integration, issue resolution, and engineering support throughout the development lifecycle.

Job Description

  • Serve as theon-site technical representative, providing direct support to automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

  • Assist in theintegration, validation, and troubleshootingof electromechanical components within vehicle systems.

  • Work closely withcustomer engineering teams, providing technical guidance ondesign, specifications, and performance requirements.

  • Facilitatecommunication between internal engineering, quality, and manufacturing teamsto ensure customer needs are met.

  • Supportprototype builds, validation testing, and field issue resolution, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

  • Monitor and report oncustomer requirements, design changes, and project milestones, driving continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors Degree inMechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience withautomotive engineering standards, validation processes, and manufacturing practices.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience withroot cause analysis and technical troubleshooting.
