How You'll Help Transform Healthcare: Operates a single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,000 LBS. or less for the purpose of delivering product between customer locations and Corporate Support facilities. Conducts Daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip maintenance and safety inspection. Delivers product to and from accounts in a timely manner. May be required to handle soiled linen within facilities as directed. Fuels trucks, checks oil when fueling and turns paperwork in to the proper location. Maintains all necessary logs as required by the company and Federal, State or Local authorities. Loads and unloads truck properly to prevent excess stops and damage to the vehicle or load. Weighs in carts to the facility computer system (if applicable) and places the carts to eliminate excess carts from the dock area. Follows OSHA and JCAHO guidelines regarding the handling of clean and soiled linens. Maintains proper driver's license and health card (driving record in compliance with Carilion policy). Serves as a customer service contact, including handling customer requests and complaints. Forwards customer complaints to facility management. Helps to maintain the vehicle that is being driven through the use of the senses (vision, hearing & smell). Reports any defects to management. May be required to work in a facility as directed by Management. What We Require: Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Licensure, registration and/or certification: A valid class B commercial driver's license and long-form DOT Physical/Health card required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a driving record within the scope of Carilion's Driver Regulations. Good motor skills including manual dexterity of eye, hand/foot, and depth perception necessary when driving. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary for interacting with customers and laundry staff. Must be able to communicate effectively and read and comprehend written materials.
