The UI Orthopedic Biomechanics Lab is looking for an undergrad student research assistant who will assist in ongoing analysis of articular joint health as visualized in weight bearing CT by participating in image segmentation and model generation. An undergraduate student in an engineering major who possesses a basic knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and mechanics is preferred. The student needs to be comfortable working with personal computers and have prior experience with MATLAB. Additional prior experience working with three-dimensional computer modeling software would be beneficial. The undergraduate research assistant will work closely with a research staff engineer in the laboratory, working under the supervision of Dr. Don Anderson, lab director. The undergraduate research assistant is expected to work 10 to 15 hours/week during the semester and up to 40 hours/week over the summer.
