Associate, Commercial Insurance Program Evaluation & Implementation

The Associate, Commercial Insurance Program Evaluation & Implementation, is responsible for profitability modeling, forecasting, and creating business cases for new delegated authority opportunities within our commercial insurance programs practice. Additionally, this role involves supporting the onboarding and workflow integration for new delegated authority partnerships, including Managing General Agents (MGA) and Managing General Underwriters (MGU).

Program Evaluation

  • Evaluate new Delegated Authority, Managing General Agents (MGA) and Managing General Underwriters (MGU). Opportunities in accordance with the department's Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conduct research and assessment on the profitability, quality, fit and character of new delegated authority partners.
  • Develop forecasting tools to illustrate 5-year pro forma income statements for new programs
  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed programs on the macro health of our practice.
  • Evaluate the exposure impact of adding a proposed program to the department (i.e. impact on average deployed limits, loss ratio volatility by product line, net AALs and PMLs) utilizing actuarial support.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility of implementing new programs
  • Produce comprehensive reports and presentations for each phase of diligence to effectively communicate analysis results and recommendations to management.

Program Implementation

  • Lead a cross-functional team to implement new programs.
  • Coordinate and provide project management for the implementation of new programs by managing a cross-functional team of internal stakeholders (such as).
  • Ensure all required diligence actions are completed and effective (what are these).
  • Produce weekly reports of Program Implementation Status.
  • Identify required deviations from the department's SOPs and work with internal stakeholders to documented, design and deliver complaint solutions processes.
  • Establish and document a process for orderly transition of newly implemented programs to the Program Management team.

Candidate Profile

The Commercial Insurance Program Evaluation & Implementation position requires a technical expert across financial modeling, business case creation and general project management within an MGA or Commercial Insurance Carrier. The role focuses on establishing best practices for operational, financial reporting, and forecasting to support the growth of a delegated underwriting authority business.

The candidate must have an executive presence, demonstrating success in communicating, influencing, and building solid relationships that add value to the AXIS business book and contribute to longer-term strategic initiatives.

Work Profile

This role is ideal for individuals based in the New York Metro Area who are looking for a combination of remote, in office, and face-to-face meetings with internal partners and clients. The job requires three days a week in the office (116 Avenue of the Americas) except while traveling to attend sales, industry, and company events.

Requirements

  • In-depth financial and underwriting understanding of programs business, with the ability to assess and develop financial projections and forecasts on existing and prospective programs.
  • Proficiency in Excel (build models and conduct analyses), Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency in project management across a diverse group of internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence and comfort meeting, working with, and presenting to both internal and external senior leadership.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams, as well as external stakeholders such as Managing General Agents (MGAs) and Program Administrators (PAs).

What we offer:

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $120,000 to $185,000 (NY), Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of various factors, including your specific experience and work location.

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
