Clinical Documentation Coordinator Full-Time Days MMH

The Clinical Documentation Coordinator is a registered nurse with a broad clinical background, strong pathophysiology knowledge base, excellent critical thinking, and advanced written/verbal communication skills. Responsible for the clinically based concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services. Analyzes and monitors the appropriateness of physician documentation for the delivery of care to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality through concurrent review. Assures compliance of the medical record documentation for required CMS agency guidelines as needed. Responsible for monitoring for the accurate and compliant documentation to support reimbursement for acute care services. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Current and unencumbered State of Florida RN license.

Bachelor's Degree prefered

Minimum 3-5 years of clinical bedside experience in an acute care (critical care, medical/surgical, or emergency department) setting is required.

Demonstrates a strong, broad-based clinical knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology of disease processes.

Demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills and prioritization.

Must have a proven track record in nurse-physician relationships and demonstrate assertive personality traits to facilitate ongoing physician communication.

Proficient computer skills on multiple software systems.

Advanced ability to communicate clearly through speaking, writing, and understanding verbal/written English
