DATA GOVERNANCE MANAGER Department of Finance and Administration Strategic Technology Solutions Nashville, TN Salary: $8,534.00 - $11,076.00 Closing Date: 04/21/2025 This position is designated as hybrid.

Who we are and what we do:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance Manager to lead the data governance strategy. In this role, you will advise departments and agencies on establishing a robust data governance framework to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of their data assets while driving industry best practices in data management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data policies, improve data quality, and establish governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.

2. Develop and advise on data policies, standards, and procedures to align with business objectives and industry best practices.

3. Collaborate with client stakeholders, including business and IT teams, to define data quality metrics and establish monitoring processes.

4. Lead initiatives in data classification, metadata management, and data lineage tracking to enhance data visibility and control.

5. Provide guidance on compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry-specific governance requirements.

6. Facilitate data stewardship programs to promote accountability and governance best practices across departments and agencies.

7. Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and executives to optimize data accessibility, usability, and strategic decision-making.

8. Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify gaps in data governance and recommend actionable improvements.

9. Stay ahead of emerging data governance trends, tools, and technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions to clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Proven experience (5+ years) in data governance, data management, or data compliance.

2. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).

3. Experience working with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and regulatory compliance.

4. Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g. Informatica, Alation, GenRocket) and data management platforms.

5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

6. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
