The expected hiring range for this position is: $106,500.00-$151,300.00.

About the Role: Fermilab's Core Computing Division seeks an experienced Senior Oracle E-Business Suite (eBS) Techno Functional Developer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting enterprise business systems and services that support the Laboratory's business and scientific organizations. The candidate must have knowledge of one or more business support areas (e.g., Oracle Financials (Procure to Pay), Planning & Budgeting, Workforce Planning etc.) and will work extensively with various organizations throughout the Laboratory. The ability to communicate effectively and work closely with end users is essential. In addition, the candidate should have strong knowledge of one or more software development or implementation methodologies. The employee will work as a member of the Enterprise Applications department's software development team supporting and enhancing Oracle e-Business Suite Financial System (eBS), Oracle Procurement Cloud Service, Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS), Workforce Planning System (WPS) and custom Oracle based applications. What your day-to-day as a Senior Oracle E-Business Suite (eBS) Techno Functional Developer at Fermilab will look like:
- Responsible for all phases of large and complex projects, usually acting as the technical team leader.
- Oversees the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance of applications, systems, and/or libraries for several large, interrelated projects.
- Leads project teams in design discussions and authors design notes. Coordinates and reviews work of other programmers on a project.
- Directs ongoing project design efforts, compiles, and reviews all requirements, information, and feedback from users and determines appropriate action steps.
- Leads others in the investigation and resolution of system and operational problems.
- Primary source of technical information and coordination for personnel from other departments regarding projects, including non-computing disciplines.
- Communicates effectively with management, peers, and stakeholders in written and oral form. Efficiently multi-tasks and switches contexts frequently among diverse and complex technical and nontechnical activities.
- Provides technical leadership to other project teams when requested and may contribute to resource and schedule estimates for work associated with major Laboratory projects.
- Provides guidance and training to less experienced members and coordination between multiple projects or teams.
- Conducts technical negotiations with vendors as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field with 10+ years of experience developing complex software projects, or a master's degree in computer science or a related field with 8+ years of experience developing complex software projects.
Applicable Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Required:
Working experience in Oracle forms & reports, OA Framework, SQL & PL/SQL programs, BI Publisher & OBIEE/OAS reports, Workflows and Integrations Proficient in UNIX/Linux shell scripting and XML transformations Functional knowledge of the following Oracle Financial modules: Purchasing, Inventory, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Project Costing, Accounts Receivables Experience in Procurement Cloud Service is a plus Experience in Oracle EPM is a plus Experience in troubleshooting configuration, integration issues and other day to day operational support activities Provide business process improvements and/or configurations Experience creating and executing test scenarios to ensure all processes work per predetermined goals Proven ability to learn and become effective with new technologies and applications Excellent oral and written communication skills plus the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization Proven mastery of troubleshooting techniques and ability to solve problems quickly Demonstrated ability to create innovative solutions Excellent decision-making skills always Willingness to foster an environment of learning, progression and accountability Ability to function as an effective team member
