Location:

Radnor, PA (Airgas HO) - Management How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Provide leadership to the Middleware and Interface Developer teams responsible for developing and supporting new Middleware applications and technologies including, but not limited to: goal setting, prioritization of initiatives, coordination of the project-related deliverables, providing technical guidance to ensure compliance with Airgas and industry programming, security and performance standards and ensuring the stability of the information technology infrastructure (systems, software, etc.).

The Team Lead, Integration will also be responsible for developing and supporting new Middleware applications and technologies (IBM middleware including modules such as Integration Server, MWS, UM, MFT, API Gateway, etc.) as well as maintaining existing technologies and applications. Responsibilities include defining customer and user requirements, systems analysis, design, build, test and implementation of mission critical systems. Special focus is on system integration, messaging and interface design and programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead efforts to deliver Middleware integrations to the business community by leveraging resources, and third party relationships.

  • Lead Middleware and Interface Developer teams through the application development life cycle while adhering to standard project management methodologies. Focus must be placed on quality of deliverables, adherence to scope, and strong management to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Manage full time and consulting resources.

  • Work with the business community to develop business cases that help justify and prioritize initiatives while adhering to overall business plan.

  • Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed information systems application software, to ensure software supports business strategies and end-user requirements.

  • Prepare written documentation such as process flowcharts and narratives that define systems, problems, and solutions designed to enhance or resolve business situations

  • Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring creativity and innovation with regard to defining business solutions. Examples include streamlining workflow, establishing and measuring key performance indicators, and building / refining complex algorithms.

  • Recommends changes to policies and procedures affecting use of business systems.

  • Assist in the development and execution of the Middleware software across a mixed operating system environment that includes Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Develops, maintains and supports integration processes and applications.

  • Develops test cases, conducts testing and documents test results.

  • Assists with technical design and functional specifications for business applications, identifies user needs, analyzes options and alternatives, and evaluates functionality and integrity of applications.

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of project plans and resource projections for activities performed within the framework of a given project. This includes defining project scope as well as preparing work plans for the project.

  • Prepares status reports and attends meetings.

  • Recommends modifications to applications as appropriate.

  • Researches and tracks technical trends and products in Middleware, Internet and eBusiness technology.

  • Develops schedules and task/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, and/or business, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years experience in an Information Technology coordinating multiple projects / resources, establishing priorities and mentoring team members

  • Experience in analysis function, working with end-users to translate business requirements into systems specifications in Middleware platforms in a mixed environment consisting of Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP).

Must have an understanding of:

  • XML, cXML, xCBL, EDI

  • APIs (REST/SOAP), message queues, ESB, ETL

  • SOA and EAI

  • Source code control - "version control"

  • Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), including MS SQL Server and other SQL variants such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

  • Familiar with all stages of the system development life cycle from design through post-implementation.

  • Solid organization, time management, and project estimating skills.
