Description Data Systems Analysts, Inc. has an opening for an Applications Engineer/Software Developer. This is a full-time position in O'Fallon, IL in support of the US Air Force responsible for troubleshooting/resolving user issues, designing and developing application interfaces for the client's solution and collaborate with the project team to define and design interface components for the solution. Work with a team of application engineers and software analysts to deliver new and/or improved Global Decision Support System (GDSS) applications and interfaces. The Applications Engineer/Software Developer will have experience in translating IT requirements; delivering functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests, and documentation; capable of developing on a .Net platform using Oracle PL/SQL and PHP primarily; knowledge of iOS and iOS mobile application development; and responsible for re-engineering GDSS applications and appliances, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current GDSS and future enterprise and systems environments. Other languages may be used as necessary and indicated by the Team Lead. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, Oracle SQL & PL/SQL databases
- Familiarity with Oracle Database packages, stored procedures, queries, etc
- Knowledgeable of SQL Developer/TOAD and other Database development tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skills using PHP, Javascript, JQuery
- Knowledgeable in debugging, troubleshooting, reverse engineering PHP both client-side and server-side hosted framework
- Demonstrated knowledge using Basic, C#
- Ability to describe their understanding of Dynamic Link Libraries and server-hosted applications
- Demonstrated ability to understand Programs from the framework perspective
- Understanding of AGILE software development & associated tools - JIRA, Crucible, GitLab, Jenkins
Desired Qualifications
- Capable of self-learning to fix various user reported problems
- Ability to tackle new and varying issues back-to-back
- Ability to work alongside skilled developers with specialized knowledge of the module(s) where a user issue may reside
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical disciplines with a minimum of three plus (3+) years of work experience designing developing software applications and interfaces
- Current Security + Certification desired or must achieve certifications within 6-months
