Responsibilities
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 11- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility. Position Scope: The Director of Operations assists the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the daily operations of all program functions with direct responsibility for all departments. Additionally, the Director of Operations is in command of the facility in the absence of the CEO and ensures orderly running of the facility during these times. Position has overall responsibility for managing, coordinating, supervising, and implementing treatment programs and the delivery of services in an effective manner for all departments. The position works most closely all departments b90 to ensure that the hospital delivers a high level of therapy services that meets the patients' needs and is in compliance with all regulatory standards. Works closely with the Business Development to market the psychiatric services to referral sources and to ensure appropriate and effective communication back to referral sources about patients they have referred. Hires and supervises staff in order to ensure a productive team that operates with high morale. The position works cooperatively with other management team members to ensure that each patient has a positive clinical experience with the best possible outcome. Essential Functions:

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Preferred Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, nursing or related field with at least five (5) years' experience working with adolescents and adults. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with at least five or more years direct care experience with children and adolescents in a residential or acute setting to include supervisory experience. Licensure/ Certification: Must maintain valid CPR and HWC certification. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and document patient behavior. Ability to speak effectively before groups of patients or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
