Overview

The Director of Analytics for Client Solutions is responsible for developing, communicating, aligning and executing the organization's advanced analytics strategies across our industrial electrical design, construction, automation, and operational technology projects, products and offerings. This role is critical in positioning Interstates as a trusted advisor to our clients for data-informed decision-making, optimizing operational performance, and leveraging analytics for continuous improvement across diverse industries such as: consumer packaged goods, data centers, energy & chemical, food & beverage, agriculture, warehouse & distribution, and water & wastewater.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Analytics Leadership: Develop and articulate a visionary direction for the analytics offering, ensuring it is both bold and aligned with the company's strategic goals. Lead the creation, alignment, and execution of a comprehensive analytics strategy that includes both standalone solutions as well as solutions that are seamlessly integrated into all projects and offerings.
  • Client Advocacy and Market Strategy: Serve as the advocate and voice for clients within the organization, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are integral to the development and execution of category strategies. Identify and prioritize key markets and client segments to focus on, based on a deep understanding of their unique challenges, opportunities, and requirements.
  • Advanced Analytics Offerings: Guide cross-functional teams to define or discover advanced analytics offerings including predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and other technology or analytics solutions to optimize industrial processes, reduce downtime, and improve safety and quality outcomes.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure that our solutions (e.g. dashboards, reports, and visualization tools) not only meet but exceed client expectations by providing clear, actionable insights tailored to their needs. Collaborate closely with the delivery teams to regularly evaluate and integrate new tools and methods, maintaining our position at the forefront of analytics excellence and client delivery.
  • Client Engagement: Regularly engage with clients to identify opportunities for data and analytics solutions to add value to their business operations. This will also be an opportunity to gather their feedback on current and potential offerings.
  • Partner Engagement: Identify and collaborate with key external partners, both existing and new. These partners could represent a new go to market channel or help us improve our analytics delivery to our clients.
  • Cross-Functional Client Pursuits: Partner with client leaders across the organization to define and integrate analytics solutions into all projects and offerings, working collaboratively to embed these solutions into electrical design, construction, automation, and operational technology offerings, thereby enhancing the overall value proposition and ensuring synergy across different domains.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish ambitious yet achievable targets-both financial and non-financial-for the analytics category, and lead initiatives to meet or surpass those targets.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing analytics team members. Work collaboratively with the Analytics Delivery Team leader(s) and Software Development & Analytics homebase leader to ensure we have identified the talent needed to execute well for clients. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration among team members.
  • Internal Alignment: Align with the internal analytics team regarding standards, data infrastructure and architecture, technology, collection and governance best practices to ensure both internal and external data analytics is optimized.
  • Data Architecture & Infrastructure: Possess a deep understanding of data architecture, including data collection, warehousing, integration, and governance, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate closely with the technical Delivery team to guide and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructures that enables both real-time and historical analysis.
  • Industry & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all analytics initiatives adhere to relevant electrical, safety, and data-protection regulations and standards, maintaining the highest level of compliance and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Required Degree: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred Degree: Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related advanced field.
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence, with a focus on industrial or manufacturing environments preferred but not required. Expertise in new product development, demand forecasting, and cross-functional team leadership
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in data warehousing technologies, advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Python, R, SQL), machine learning frameworks, and industry-specific automation or control software.

Certifications (if applicable)

  • Industry-specific certifications in data analytics or cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) are a plus.
  • Preference for certifications related to innovation and/or product management such as design thinking, PDMA, or AIPMM.

Additional Expectations:

  • Travel Expectations: This role may require occasional travel to project sites, client facilities, conferences, and company offices across various regions.
  • Physical Demands: While primarily office-based, this position may involve site visits in industrial environments. The team member should be prepared to follow safety protocols, potentially navigate confined spaces, and adhere to all relevant safety regulations.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: All tasks and responsibilities must be executed in accordance with industry regulations, national electrical codes, safety guidelines, data protection laws, and company standards.
  • Compensation: The pay range for this position is $140-180K + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility.
