Description: The accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, tracking project expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable functions, including the preparation and processing of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of vendor master records including lien waver requirements, business classification, and other subcontractor information
- Perform data entry tasks for financial transactions and maintain general ledger entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Support the setup and maintenance of vendor EFT's and reconciliation of bank accounts and other financial records.
- Help maintain financial documentation to support audits, both internal and external.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with DOE, DoD, and commercial contract financial requirements.
- Assist in responding to vendor inquiries and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Monitor and track financial data, ensuring it is accurately reflected in the accounting system.
- Assist with posting vehicle and equipment usage on a weekly basis and troubleshoot issues that arise during the process

Education, Experience and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (preferred).
- 1-2 years of basic accounting or finance experience, or a strong internship background in a similar field (required).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (required).
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint (preferred).
- Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
