The Annex Teen Clinic provides sexual health care and education for young adults through age 25 in a friendly, non-judgmental, and comfortable atmosphere. Our services are low-cost, medically accurate, and developmentally appropriate. The Annex Teen Clinic has been providing services in Northwest Hennepin County and North Minneapolis since 1971.

Wages

$17 - $19 per hour

Benefits

Paid vacation time, sick time, and personal time policies, plus nine paid holidays per year and two floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance offerings; Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions up to $1,200/year for high deductible health plans, and options for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA); There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. ATC sponsors a retirement plan with a 3% employer contribution after one year of service.

Schedule

The clinic is open 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Friday, and 10:00am - 2:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month. This role will have the flexibility to form a 35 hour per week schedule with these hours in mind, and the position may increase to 40 hours per week. Being able to work on Fridays is preferred.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as the Annex's Patient Services Representative provides an opportunity to work closely with both clients and clinic staff and collaborate with the nursing team to ensure that the clinic flow operates smoothly. Responsibilities will include the following:

Front Desk: Employees who work at the Front Desk are the face of the clinic. They are often the first contact that our clients have with the Annex either in person, or over the phone.



  • Managing the front desk will require multi-tasking in answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering patient data into our electronic health records system, and assisting nurses with administrative tasks, all while maintaining accuracy. The Annex utilizes NextGen electronic health records system and Microsoft Office Suite daily.


Finance: Employees who work in the Finance office are responsible for client interactions regarding options to pay for services at the Annex.



  • Support of the Finance office will include assisting clients with state program applications, taking payments, and other financial duties.


Lab: Employees who work in the Lab work closely with our nursing team and Lab Supervisor to provide direct, non-judgmental, confidential patient care.



  • Support for the Lab will include obtaining client vitals, including height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Lab support also includes ordering tests in the electronic health records system as well as processing and packaging blood and urine samples to be sent to the lab.


Who You Are



  • Experience with the listed job functions is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in administration, customer service, or financial billing; or an interest in healthcare preferred but not required.
  • This position requires a friendly disposition and commitment to excellent customer service while working under pressure within a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • In addition, you must possess a keen attention to detail as this role requires large amounts of patient data entry, financial records management, and state healthcare program applications.
  • You are flexible, detail oriented, organized, and committed to increasing access to quality healthcare for teens and young adults.
  • You can work independently utilizing a high degree of problem-solving skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • You're able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • You are confident in your ability to ensure client confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • You can assess client needs and provide culturally appropriate referrals.
  • You are skilled in exercising independent judgment and show initiative in performing assigned duties.
  • You can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Your schedule allows you to work variable hours per week with the potential to increase hours as the position expands.

  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Annex Teen Clinic's driving record requirements to attend meetings and visit community sites in North Minneapolis.
