In the role of Senior Environmental Technical Specialist , we'll count on you to:

  • Provide technical leadership, project management, mentorship, and general guidance for federal activities, regulatory processes, and advise on environmental issues
  • Excellent working knowledge of West Coast federal projects, have a strong understanding of federal permitting processes and be able to advise or lead those processes.
  • Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
  • Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
  • Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other design software
  • Preparation of design and quantity calculations
  • Preparation of specifications and contract documents
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervising engineer
  • Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
  • When required, coordinate the work of one or more Technical Specialists


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • A strong technical writing and analytical background is required
  • Excellent understanding and extensive experience with environmental issues and permitting
  • Solid network within the federal agencies, with state agency contacts being a plus

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $115,346.00 - $187,250.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
