In the role of Senior Environmental Technical Specialist
, we'll count on you to:
- Provide technical leadership, project management, mentorship, and general guidance for federal activities, regulatory processes, and advise on environmental issues
- Excellent working knowledge of West Coast federal projects, have a strong understanding of federal permitting processes and be able to advise or lead those processes.
- Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
- Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
- Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other design software
- Preparation of design and quantity calculations
- Preparation of specifications and contract documents
- Other duties as assigned by the supervising engineer
- Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
- When required, coordinate the work of one or more Technical Specialists
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- A strong technical writing and analytical background is required
- Excellent understanding and extensive experience with environmental issues and permitting
- Solid network within the federal agencies, with state agency contacts being a plus
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
- Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
