Position Description
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions |
Teach required undergraduate and graduate courses in accordance with University and School policies and provide student advising typical of full-time faculty. Manage and maintain lab spaces as appropriate and participate in other service roles typical of full-time faculty. Engage in scholarship and professional development activities; and other duties as agreed upon by the department chair and the dean of School of Engineering and Computer Science.
Specific duties include:
- Advise students through their academic journey including providing information on degree requirements, academic planning, address concerns or challenges, provide general resources, and offer support for career development.
- Manage and maintain lab spaces including keeping equipment inventory, scheduling, maintenance, safety protocols, and ensuring a conducive environment for research and experiments.
- Participate in various committees including service work that supports the broader mission of the university.
- Involve in scholarship and professional development activities including conducting research, publishing academic work, and contributing to the field's knowledge.
Teaching courses:
COMP 055 - Application Development: This course develops the skills and techniques required for the creation of contemporary software applications. Contemporary software applications are complex systems that involve the interaction of multiple subsystems that require teams of developers working together for extended periods of time. Topics include teamwork and communication skills, current development methodologies, analysis and design documentation and the use of libraries. This course is intended to prepare students to transition to upper division courses. COMP 135 - HUMAN COMPUER INTERFACE DESIGN: Human-Computer Interface (HCI) Design focuses on the relationship between humans and computers or other physical devices. This course helps students develop an understanding of the common problems in designing these interfaces and presents a set of design techniques to ensure that designs are both useful and useable

Minimum Qualifications |
- Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. Foreign degree equivalent is accepted.
