Job Overview




Participation in the development of and execution of engineering projects to support the maintenance and growth objectives for the Collagen Product Area including compliance and design controls as well as building the QMS system.



Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties



  • Perform technical and product-related sustaining activities using knowledge of biomaterials, Design Controls, engineering principles and compliance writing
  • Responsible for creating technical specifications for new product or product improvements.
  • Prepare experimental protocols and reports in response to development needs.
  • Evaluate prototypes, collect, analyze and report data.
  • Perform basic remediation activities using Design Controls principles, new product development knowledge and our internal procedures.
  • Support the transition from product development to manufacturing including technical training of personnel in order to ensure a smooth manufacturing start-up.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Provide technical support for product registrations using product knowledge and the scientific literature.
  • Collaborate with material science lab located in Merrimack, NH to support development and testing activities.


Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Biomedical), or related field, or possess the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of medical device industry experience, preferably in a new product development engineering position


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to effectively navigate technical documents focusing on timely completion
  • Ability to access clean room environment (OEM collagen manufacturing site) in Mahwah, NJ
  • Experience with biomaterial technology or experience developing or refining biological implantable materials preferred
  • Experience in generating test plans, writing protocols, conducting design verification/validation, and processing validation testing
  • Experience/familiarity with U.S. FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements for the design, validation, manufacturing processes and assembly of medical components and devices
  • Good cross collaboration skills within internal departments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with external suppliers
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint
  • Possesses a consistently positive and solution-oriented attitude, approaching challenges with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn


Salary Range: $92,000 - $115,000
