General Summary of Position:

Incumbents of this position perform janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, maintenance and some grounds keeping tasks at the University.

The basic purpose of this work is to perform various manual tasks required for the routine maintenance of the buildings and grounds of an educational campus.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):



  • Knowledge of the types and uses of small hand tools used in building maintenance such as pliers, hammers, wrenches, etc.
  • Knowledge of the standard procedures followed in the storage of building custodial and cleaning materials.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques used for the security of buildings and property.
  • Knowledge of the methods followed in building custodial and maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of the types and uses of materials, tools and equipment used in building maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in building maintenance and custodial work.
  • Skill in the use of small hand tools used in building maintenance such as pliers, hammers, wrenches, etc.
  • Ability to pass MA CORI and background check
  • Valid MA Driver's license

This is an MTA - Maintenance & Trades Bargaining Union position, Grade 9 Step 1 - $1,520.72 bi-weekly.
