English Language Proficiency Assessors

Job Description:

The Office of English Learner Services is seeking experienced educators to serve as assessors, on a temporary part-time basis, to primarily assist in administering English language proficiency screener assessments to students registering for school who have a primary language other than English in the home. English proficiency assessors administer the WIDA English proficiency screener assessment, interpret the assessment results, and convey results to students and families. Additional assessment administration may include the Logramos assessment for Spanish speakers and content assessments for secondary students. Assessors work with students and families and who have a language other than English, the EL Office registrars, and with the parent outreach coordinator in the Welcome Center of the Office of English Learner Services.

Experience:

Applicants should have experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students, be culturally competent, familiar with English proficiency assessment, and preferably bilingual. Participation in assessment training and annual WIDA assessment certification will be required.

Clearances:

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
• Tuberculosis Skin Test.

Public Health Compliance

• Proof of COVID vaccination. Exemptions for religious/medical will be reviewed.
• Must follow safety and health protocols.
