Job Overview

The P&G Digital Accelerator@UC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation scientist/engineer to help drive Product and Process innovation through development and application of complex multi-physics computer simulations. The successful candidate will initially focus on developing and connecting digital twins of advanced skin-product interaction processes.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with scientist and engineers at the University of Cincinnati as well as Procter & Gamble across numerous scientific domains.
  • Utilize mathematical modeling, statistical techniques, chemistry, physics, and fundamental engineering.

Required Education

PhD Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomechanical, Materials Science), Physics, or Chemistry or closely related field required.

Required Experience

  • The ability to develop the mathematical equations which govern a given dynamic systems' physicochemical, reaction kinetics, or transport phenomena
  • The ability to formulate and solve mathematical optimization problems
  • Strong coding skills in at least one scientific computing language (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Java, C, C++)

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Knowledge of human biology especially skin with experience developing biological application an additional plus
  • Experience coding / applying finite difference, finite element or finite volume methods
  • Experience using optimization software such as GAMS, Pyomo, SciPy, AMPL, or Gurobi Optimizer
  • Experience using Equation-oriented modelling software such as gPROMS, Pyomo or Modelica
  • Experience in Multivariate Statistics
  • The individual must be a team player with a "Roll up your sleeves" attitude and able to partner with a multi-functional team to define the model requirements
  • Be able to effectively communicate complex technical results through both presentations and reports to stakeholders with a range of technical and business backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
