IEM is looking for a Full Time - Deputy Project Manager to work with our Individual Assistance team in support of Recovery efforts in the United States.

Primary Location:

  • Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States but must be willing to relocate to New Mexico.
  • Preference will be given to candidates already residing in New Mexico.
  • Your workplace will be in an office environment and remote from a personal location and will depend on the need of the project.

Travel Requirements:

  • Once hired you will travel across the United States to client sites as needed.
  • Daily travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations or DoD Regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Project Manager in daily operation and all the roles and responsibilities listed for Program Management.
  • Assist in coordination of daily activities related to personnel assignments, personnel tracking, equipment tracking, onboarding tracking, project-based training completion and tracking of personnel, communications, scheduling, supporting the completion of deliverables, and other senior-level support requirements of the Project Manager.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Project Manager and Project personnel assigned to the operation for tracking administrative information such as rosters, contact information, and other information.
  • Assist the review and finalization of project documentation such as contract deliverables, contract scope and costing information, contract accounting, purchase orders, invoices, and other requirements related to contract and subcontract requirements.
  • Assist in compliance with standards of performance, safety policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in human resources and management activities on the operational side of the programs and determine the staff needed to accomplish the operational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as Mass Care, Disaster Recovery, Homeland Security, Program Management, etc.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in the administration of Federal / State Individual Assistance Program Recovery Project Management
  • Ability to meet the necessary qualifications and suitability requirements to obtain and maintain a FEMA badge, which may include background checks and security clearances as required by FEMA.
  • FEMA Trainings that need to be completed before hire:
    1. ICS 100, 200, 300, 400.
    2. IS 403 - Individual Assistance
    3. IS 405 - Mass Care / Emergency Assistance
    4. IS 700, 800

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in emergency management and disaster response, public health, and/or disaster recovery.
  • Experience deploying for response and recovery clients.
  • Experience managing project teams & writing proposals.
  • Master's Degree in relevant field or relevant professional certification or accreditation such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or similar. Social sciences or human services experience
  • Professional Registration or Certification will be evaluated for fit (can include, Social Work, Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, Project Management)

Additional Location and Travel Information:

  • Office Locations: Office locations are often either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow any rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work for that project.
  • Remote Work: All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
  • Situational Awareness: During site assessments, conditions may be austere including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure and no electricity, heat or air conditioning. Other potential risks include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris and other potential exposures.
  • Physical Requirements: Site assessments may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels and ditches; climbing ladders.
