The Director, Medical Affairs Scientific Training is a key position within Global Medical Affairs. The primary responsibility is to provide oversight and strategic direction for the scientific training team, act as a therapeutic expert, and serve as a scientific training resource for Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, USBU and internal colleagues. Under the direction of Director, Head of Medical Affairs Learning & Development, the Director, Medical Affairs Scientific Training will be responsible for leading and coordinating the training team, working collaboratively across global medical affairs to ensure consistent scientific education, and acting with strategic direction. The training team will act as therapeutic experts to provide foundational and continuing scientific education globally and cross functionally, to lead development of medical content for training and education, develop foundational and continuing scientific education materials and develop disease education materials.

This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Director, Head of Medical Affairs Learning & Development. This position is office based and can be located in either Portsmouth, NH or Wayne, PA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Act as a therapeutic expert in Oncology, including CNS (GBM, Brain Metastasis), Thoracic (Lung, MPM), and Abdominal (Ovarian, Pancreatic, Liver, etc.), ensuring training content remains clinically relevant and scientifically rigorous.Develop and execute a scalable scientific training strategy that aligns with the evolving needs of the organization, ensuring programs are adaptable, high-impact, and fit for purpose.
  • Provide or coordinate with internal leadership to provide/lead scientific training for international teams such as Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Clinical Research Scientist, and preclinical teams, etc
  • Lead/coordinate the scientific training teams to provide scientific support and training to USBU with high quality training and resources
  • Oversee the development and execution of scientific training materials, modules, and slide decks, ensuring alignment with compliance standards and facilitating submission to the Scientific Review Committee (SRC)/Promotional Review Committee (PRC) as required by Novocure policies.Lead/coordinate the scientific training teams to develop and implement disease education primers in support of Novocure clinical trial program (eg. lung, pancreas, ovarian)
  • Engage and collaborate with Medical Affairs, Scientific, and Clinical teams to align training efforts with broader organizational priorities.
  • Lead/coordinate the scientific training teams to identify and engage KOLs to support training efforts as needed
  • Ensure on-going field based training, reinforcing continuous learning and development
  • Shape and lead a best-in-class onboarding program, ensuring a seamless and effective integration of new hires while continuously refining the experience to meet evolving business and scientific needs.
  • Lead the annual credentialing process for medical field teams, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. Maintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise through review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical meetings and self-learning
  • Actively contribute to Medical Affairs planning and departmental activities, ensuring alignment of training programs with business and medical strategies.
  • Timely completion of administrative duties associated with role, , supporting operational efficiency and effectiveness within the scientific training function.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making.Ability to use metrics and feedback to assess training effectiveness and optimize learning solutions.



QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:



  • Advanced clinical/health/science degree (Masters level/RNP or above or equivalent experience required)
  • 10-15+ years oncology experience required
  • 8-10+ years industry (Pharma/Medical Device, Clinical Trial, Marketing Agency, etc) experience required
  • At least 2 years field experience (MSL, CRS, TLL, etc.) or clinical experience or equivalent
  • 6-8+ years of scientific training/education experience required
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing scientific training programs, including onboarding and continuous education.
  • Must be competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience in Instructional Design & Adult Learning Principles
  • Must have strong leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills
  • Must have excellent verbal skills, strong presentation skills, writing skills
  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking and vision
  • Must demonstrate fluency in articulating scientific concepts and data
  • Must have good judgment, ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment
  • A strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative
  • Must work well in large and small teams, ability to work remotely



OTHER:



  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • This position requires travel to the Novocure Corporate offices and various trainings both in US and globally (up to 20% of the time).
