Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Commercial Business Banking Intern (Omaha Business Banking) to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in the commercial banking industry, offering exposure to credit analysis, financial modeling, loan structuring, and client relationship management. The intern will work closely with experienced bankers and gain insight into how we help businesses grow through customized financial solutions.

While in this role you will gain real-world experience in commercial banking and corporate finance, exposure to senior leader and client-facing opportunities, professional development and mentorship as well as a potential pathway to full-time opportunities post-graduation.

Full-Time (40 hours), 10 week internship starting June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025.

Essential Functions:



  • Assist in analyzing financial statements and key ratios.
  • Support relationship managers in managing client portfolios and conducting industry and market research.
  • Participate in client meetings and internal strategy sessions.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external use.
  • Learn the fundamentals of commercial lending, risk assessment, and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as credit, treasury management, and operations.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Previous internship or coursework in finance or banking.
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis or credit underwriting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Interest in commercial banking and client relationship management.

Working Environment:

Sedentary work, occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.

Indoor work not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.
