Job Summary |
The Auburn University College of Agriculture is searching for our next Contracts and Grants Specialist, who will provide administrative support to the College of Agriculture and Agricultural Experiment Station on internal and external grants, extramural projects and the A-21 cost accounting standards obligations.

Essential Functions |
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Advising faculty and administration on procedures and approving contract and grant related documents to ensure proper and timely accounting and contractual agreements.
- Serving as liaison between departmental and central offices to ensure proper submission of proposals and ensure compliance with university and sponsor guidelines and cost accounting standards.
- Serving as a point of contact for pre-award grant activity in the college and submit grants on behalf of the college.
- Promoting and coordinating grant opportunities, workshops, and training for faculty.
- Providing customer service to faculty, staff, administration, and sponsors on pre-award activity.
- Providing periodic contract and grant reports; preparing extramural cover forms.
- Maintaining data for funded projects and activities.
- Supporting the Associate Dean for Research and other research staff in providing grantsmanship and research-related trainings to faculty, staff and students.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

We are hiring for a Contracts and Grants Specialist at three levels, based on candidates qualifications.
Specialist I: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or related field; no experience required.
Specialist II: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in the management of contracts and grants.
Specialist III: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and 4 years of experience in the management of contracts and grants.
Candidates who do not have a degree may substitute 8 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.Degrees above a Bachelor's degree may substitute for years of experience. |
