Summary

This role is pivotal in managing and executing tasks related to IT activities, services, technologies, and products within a specific business unit called Energy Resource Management (ERM). The individual will determine whether investments support and enhance ERM department's strategies and objectives. ERM leadership will expect individual to set direction and develop IT strategies, policies, and plans across departmental framework. They will maintain IT application and resources, while training users across team. They will support network and communication services, oversee data governance, as well as processes and performance reporting. Additionally, oversight encompasses AGILe (Advanced Grid Innovation Lab for Energy), digital transformation initiatives, and R&D services, ensuring that NYPA can anticipate, prevent, and respond to technology disruptions. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of highly scalable and high-performance solutions using traditional and cloud technologies. Collaborate with Architecture teams to ensure alignment with overall system design and goals.
  • Communicate technical business solutions to senior Information Technology and Business Unit Management as well as to peers and staff, for understanding, agreement, and implementation.
  • Drive the overall architecture of an existing enterprise application system and implementation of new applications, ERP solutions, and platform APIs.
  • Drive the planning, analysis, designing, requirements definition, functional design, development, configuration, testing, training, and implementation of IT solutions for multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Responsible for supporting cloud solution resources, both IaaS and PaaS.
  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise application design patterns, DevSecOps pipelines for cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Contributing\Leading large team, new efficiencies, Platform capabilities, Governance, Frameworks, Integration between platforms
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Deep knowledge in application architecture, design, development, and support including large scale enterprise systems implementations on cloud and on-prem.
  • Expert experience with DevSecOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to influence business stakeholders and technical teams to achieve best results and automation.
  • Good Experience in a project management, resource estimation and, delivery timeline management and stakeholder co-ordination
  • Strong Knowledge and understanding of Cyber security, Data and NERC-CIP policies
  • Top-level technical skills and abilities to work on problems of diverse scope and substantial complexity
  • Ability to develop and implement new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that will have an impact on the achievement of Function / Department results.
  • Top-level expertise and experience in implementation and support of Realtime systems.
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience in leading project teams
  • Experience with software engineering best-practices such as build automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Cloud Certifications preferred.
  • Microsoft /AWS/SAP/PMO technology-specific certification required based on specialization.
Physical Requirements

Overnight travel to the various NYPA locations within New York State.

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
