The individual in this role sells and markets products for distribution (B2B) to contractor and industrial businesses at customers' place of business.

The role requires the vigorous pursuit of bid/spec business and will work closely with Engineers, Contractors, Wholesalers, and internal PVI Watts partners.

*The territory for this role consists of NYC-Five Boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties

The Outside Sales Representative is part of a dynamic team that helps PVI New York Sales enter a new phase of growth. The Outside Sales Representative will be an individual contributor responsible for selling PVI, A Commercial water Heating manufacturer by WATTS. This position will be a part of a compact and nimble sales and marketing team which reports directly to the sales manager. The incumbent will ideally be based out of NYC or the surrounding area. The sales territory will cover an assigned territory: NYC- Five boroughs, Rockland and Westchester Counties.

You Will:

  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales.
  • Meet sales targets for your defined products and territory. Products include Water Heaters, Expansion Tanks, Digital Mixing Valves, Commercial Pumps.
  • Perform Inside and Outside sales activities to acquire new customers as well as project-based work for current customers.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and be point of contact for current and potential customers.
  • Demonstrate products to Engineers, Contractors and Wholesalers by way of samples, catalogues and PDH Approved Lunch and Learns.
  • Develop relationships with Facility Managers, Building & Business Owners, and other buyers using a consultative sales approach.
  • Prepare marketing and sales reports and implement marketing projects.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace.
  • Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, and/or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • 4+ years of Sales experience is required, preferably with a rep or mechanical firm.

Preferred:

  • Proven ability to develop new business and close sales and proven business development skills and demeanor.
  • Experience working in the Plumbing and HVAC Industry is preferred.
  • Technically oriented individual. Must possess strong computer software skills (familiarity with social media, email, CRM, spreadsheets, and document programs).
  • Experience using Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn preferred
  • Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritize and close multiple sales leads.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish mutually beneficial commitments and expectations with customers, internally and externally.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can handle workload and take initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Coordination and influencing skills.
  • Strong team player, work ethic and committed to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.

  • Experience in negotiation of sales opportunities and contract terms.

Management/Supervision:

This position has no direct reports and is an individual contributor and sales associate.

Compensation Information:

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 annually with a generous commission package and car allowance. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Office environment with occasional shop floor working environment. Noise level is minimal. Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor.
