In Fremont, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support 5G Networks. We are developing optical alignment techniques and opto-mechanical assemblies for optical products. We are looking for a R&D Technician to join our team. This person will work with teams to execute customer requirements by performing assembly, inspection and testing of fiber optical devices and modules, opto-mechanical and opto-electric subassemblies and modules. What You Will Do * Perform detailed and precise assembly operations requiring dexterity in handling small parts, and the ability to execute step-by-step instructions consistently * Perform splicing optical fibers and routing devices based on drawings * Perform optical component and chip inspection * Perform fiber optical alignment, component fixing * Sometimes it works under a microscope * Gather and record relevant data during the manufacturing process * Work with internal cross functional team members to support time sensitive (NPI) projects. Who You Are * High School diploma or equivalent GED * At least 5 years hands on fiber optical routing, assembling and testing experience * Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills * Record keeping and data documentation skills * Understand ESD safety What Puts You Ahead * College degree * 10 plus years' experience in fiber optical routing, assembling and testing * Verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin * Motivated self-starter and independent worker * Passed 6S and ISO9001/TL9000 training. For this role, we anticipate paying $28.00 per hour - $33.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
